My first flag card is a flag of Saarland, which is a German flag with Saarland's coat of arms. Did you know that after the World War II Saarland went under the French ocupation and later (in 1954) there were plans to make it independent. In 1954 Saarland competed in qualifying section of football World Cup. Between 1950 and 1956, Saarland was a member of the Council of Europe.
